2 men die after AC unit blast in Guindy

CHENNAI: Two men died after a air conditioner unit blasted while attending a fault at a private firm in Guindy on Thursday.

Police said Chinnadurai (48), Indrakumar (22) and Saravanan (42) went to service the air conditioner in Guindy Industrial Estate last Friday. While they were servicing the outdoor unit, it blasted and all three of them suffered severe burns and were taken to Porur Ramachandra hospital.

Later, Chinnadurai and Indrakumar who were in critical condition were shifted to the KMC. Police said without responding to treatments Indrakumar died on Wednesday night and Chinnadurai on Thursday morning.

The St Thomas Mount police have registered a case and further inquiry is on. Police said Saravanan is under treatment in the Porur hospital.
