‘Pandemic has expedited digital adoption’

Infosys Chairman Nandan Nilekani said on Tuesday the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the trend of digitisation and compressed it from years to weeks.

Nilekani said the digitisation trend has accelerated as children are now using online learning and health services have gone online among others. The COVID situation compressed the digital trend from years to weeks.

The trend of consumerisation of technology which started in 2007 saw the smartphone become the vehicle of change. The trends which are emerging from the consumer side of technology are penetrating large companies, he noted.
