Tirupati Devasthanam has advised the unwell devotees to avoid visiting temple to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Tirupati Devasthanam has ordered the health officials of Tirupati to conduct a medical examination for those involved with cold, cough, fever and sneezing inside the temple premises.

More than one lakh people visit Tirupati everyday. About hundreds of them are from abroad. Thus, the risk of coronavirus infection is quite higher in a crowded area like Tirupati. This has resulted in the increasing fear of spread of coronavirus in Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanam areas.

TTD's Joint Executive Officer Dharma Reddy conducted a meeting recently with the temple officials to discuss about possible preventive measures for coronavirus.

Devotees are advised to wear face masks before entering the temple. But the stores in Tirupati suffer from shortage of face masks currently. Face masks that were sold for Rs 2 in medical shops are now being sold for Rs 20 in Tirupati.
