Siddharth who had a couple of releases last year with Sivappu Manjal Pachchai and Aruvam also signed Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2. The latest news doing the rounds in tinseltown is that the actor has been approached to play Keerthy Suresh’s pair in Rajini 168. Keerthy is touted to play Rajinikanth’s daughter in the movie. A source close to the film’s unit told DT Next, “Nothing is official yet or has been confirmed regarding Siddharth being a part of the star ensemble. He was the first choice to play the role that will be of a rebel from rural Tamil Nadu. We will know it in the coming days as he has given a huge chunk of his dates for Indian 2.”
The team is currently on a brief schedule break and will resume shooting from the first week of February. Produced by Sun Pictures, the film has an ensemble star cast including Keerthy Suresh, Meena, Khushbu and Prakash Raj. Imman will compose the music for the film. The tentatively-titled Thalaivar 168 is expected to hit the screens on pooja holiday weekend this year.
