CHENNAI: The team of director Arun Matheswaran's upcoming film DC, starring filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj in the lead, on Wednesday announced that the film will hit theatres worldwide on July 31.
Production house Sun Pictures shared the release date on social media, writing, “Devadas and Chandra are ready to light up the big screen, DC releasing worldwide from July 31.”
The film marks Lokesh Kanakaraj’s acting debut and has generated considerable buzz since its announcement.
A Valentine's Day promotional video introduced Lokesh as Devadas, alongside Wamiqa Gabbi as Chandra and Sanjana as Parvathi. The teaser hinted at a gritty gangster drama, featuring stylised action and emotionally charged moments.
The promo showed Parvathi struggling to perform on stage, Chandra and Devadas navigating violent confrontations while sharing scenes with both women. It ended with Devadas and Chandra escaping in a car.
Directed by Arun Matheswaran, DC has dialogues by Arun Matheswaran and Franklin Jacob, with additional screenplay by Arun Ranjan.
The film’s technical crew includes music composer Anirudh Ravichander, cinematographer Mukesh G, editor GK Prasanna and art director Kannan S.
