Three weeks after the tragic accident, there have been various speculations that the shoot of Indian 2 resumed last week overseas sans Kamal Haasan and director Shankar. However, a source close to the film unit told DT Next, “The shoot of Indian 2 is all set to resume on March 23. Almost the entire star cast will be present for the schedule and will go on without a break. There was a rumour that a song from the film, featuring Kajal Aggarwal was shot in Europe. That is just a baseless rumour. She is in Mumbai shooting for another film.” The source also added that Lyca has assured the Indian 2 unit of complete safety measures before resuming the shoot. “The shoot has been shifted to another studio in the city. Other major scenes will also be filmed in Hyderabad,” the source revealed.

In the accident that occurred on February 19 at the shooting spot in EVP film City on the outskirts of Chennai, three people died. The mishap occurred when a crane that carried heavy-lighting equipment crashed to the ground. Kamal, Shankar and Kajal had a miraculous escape. Indian 2 also stars Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh and Shanthnu Bhagyaraj among others.
