CHENNAI: The makers of Thug Life released the much-awaited trailer on Saturday. The crisp and engaging trailer focuses on the battle between Kamal Haasan and Silambarasan TR.

What looks like a strong emotional action drama, the trailer has increased the hype for the film by not giving away much about the plot of this Mani Ratnam directorial.

Particularly, the scene where STR says, “Inime naan thaan inga Rangaraya Sakthivel,” indicating that he will be taking the position of Kamal in the film. Mani Ratnam leaves it to the audience to predict the twists and turns in the plot.

Apart from Kamal and STR, the star cast includes Trisha, Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, Abhirami and Nasser in key roles. Jointly produced by Madras Talkies, Raaj Kamal Films International and Red Giant Movies, Thug Life has music composed by AR Rahman. The film’s first single, Jinguchaa, is already a chartbuster.

Ravi K Chandran is handling the camera, while Sreekar Prasad is in charge of cuts. The action sequences are choreographed by stunt duo Anbariv.

Thug Life is all set to hit the screens on June 5.
