“Though comedy is a sage genre, people nowadays support only intelligent humour and not jokes that test their patience. Apart from comedy, there is a fantasy element hidden in Time Up that I believe would click with the audience. It is a gamble we have taken but something that’s worth it,” Manu told DT Next. He added that it wasn’t a cakewalk for him. “I play a software professional in the film. With people like Motta Rajendran on sets, no amount of performance from us would satisfy the director. So, I had to push myself hard to stand out. However, it was a nice learning experience,” he said.

The actor is shooting for his next film. “I play the second lead in the film and we have been shooting for it. I have also penned a script, a female-centric psycho-thriller. I would don the director’s hat soon,” he concluded. Produced by Kalai Cinemas, Time Up has Monica playing the female lead and Kathir in an important role.
