The film is directed by Raja Ramamurthy who had previously helmed the web series America Maapillai. Talking to DT Next, Raja said, “The shoot of the film was completed before the lockdown. I had pitched in the idea to Akshara last year, and she liked the script instantly. After that, we had another couple of discussions to ensure that we are on the same page and we took off.” Apart from being a female-centric film, 90 per cent of the technicians who worked in the film are also women. “Women who worked for this film will certainly be recognised upon its release. This is a film that talks about sapphic relationships and is a coming of age film. Akshara will play the role of a Carnatic singer and learned it for a week prior to the shoot,” added Raja.

Talking about the shoot, Raja said that the film was completely shot in Chennai. “We started it off quietly and completed it. The message the movie has will resonate with the audience and they won’t feel provocative about the content. We will be announcing the title of the film on September 14,” he concluded.
