Confused first-time traveller steps into airport X-Ray scanner

Travelling alone can be a daunting task, especially if you are a firsttime traveller. An airport is nothing short of a maze. A CCTV footage, apparently from Dagestan airport in Russia, shows a man who did not know how the security check-in process worked. In the video that emerged online, he can be seen walking towards the airport security area. He seems confused about what the machine with the rollers is supposed to do. Unable to figure out what his next course of action should be, the man stepped into the X-ray machine, much to the surprise and alarm of the security officials. While this seems hilarious at first glance, it is also important to note that the radiations used at airports to check baggage are extremely powerful, and might have an adverse impact on the human body.

A border collie ‘hero’ wins online praise for saving a Canadian chihuahua

A brave border collie is being called a “hero” online after a video of him saving another dog went viral. The video, which is doing rounds on social networks, showed how the dog went into action to save his little friend, a Canadian chihuahua. The images showed the small mutt that was making its way through a snowy street when a blue car began to recede. The small furry animal moved away, directly in the way of the car, but a tragic incident was avoided due to the timely intervention of the “hero”. Realising that the car could hit the dog, the border collie entered the scene from nowhere and grabbed his hairy friend by the neck, dragging him away from the path.

2 dads, a mom: Rare trio of bald eagles raise eaglet together in a nest

Proof that families come in all shapes, sizes and species, three eagles — two dads and a mom — are raising three, fluffy-feathered eaglets in a nest near the Mississippi River this spring. According to the Stewards of the Upper Mississippi River Refuge, all three of the birds, Valor I, Valor II (dads) and Starr (mom) “take part in nest maintenance, incubation and raising the young.” The refuge hosts a live webcam of the Illinois family, which is a rare example of an eagle trio cooperatively nesting, raising their young together. While not unheard of, such trios have only been documented a few times according to the National Audubon Society, in Alaska in 1977, in Minnesota in 1983 and in California in 1992.
