A viral forward carries a picture of a hostel building claiming politicians had constructed a 400-room hostel for J&K students at JNU in 2012. “In this hostel, no students of Hindu or other religions can stay,” the message claimed. It also said Muslim students from J&K can live in the hostel for free. Alt News found that admission to hostels is based on several factors. Priority is given to outstation students from all over and J&K students have not been singled out over others.
