Billionaire farmer leader not a Congress man

Recently, an infographic with a picture of farmer leader VM Singh was widely shared. 

Users claimed Singh is part of Congress party and has been participating in protests to support farmers despite owning property worth Rs 631 cr. 

Alt News reached out to VM Singh’s office about his supposed affiliation to the Congress and was told he is not a member of the party anymore. He had left Congress back in 2012 to continue working for farmers.
