Won’t be cowed down by cases: LoP

DMK president MK Stalin challenged the AIADMK government on Thursday to file any number of cases against him and he will face them at the same time and he would never stop criticising the government that had failed in all fronts.

“Not only just two cases, let there be two thousand cases against me, I will never care and be scared as we have faced even MISA,” said Stalin at the wedding in family of Thanjavur MP SS Palanimanickam.

Stalin said that there is only 17 months left for the Assembly polls and asked the cadre to utilise the time to be cautious and carefully take every step forward. He pointed out that the cadre were so vigilant, DMK could secure at least 65 per cent of seats in the local body polls after defeating the irregularities and the misuse of power by the AIADMK.

“If the polls were conducted in a fair way and the results were declared promptly, DMK could have won between 85 and 90 per cent. We have approached the High Court and Supreme Court against the atrocities executed by the ruling AIADMK during the election and counting and secured decent number otherwise, the results would have been worse to DMK,” Stalin said.

Stating that the local body polls is the preamble for the upcoming Assembly polls, Stalin said, the results in favour of DMK has forced the ruling party to take up series of campaigns against the party and filing number of false cases, but the DMK is ready to face anything.

Hitting out directly at the AIADMK, Stalin asked the ruling party what step they had taken to provide medical education to the poor and marginalised students. “Are you not competent enough to stop compulsory NEET for medical admissions? We have passed the resolution against NEET twice in the House and sent it to the Centre. What had happened. Are you not responsible to reply to the people?” Stalin asked.

Pointing out that the Chief Minister and the Ministers have promised the Cauvery Delta farmers that the state government would never allow hydrocarbon projects, Stalin said, against their promise, the Centre has been more vigorous in bringing in the projects in the Delta regions and the state government failed to respond or stop the project to save the farmers.

Stalin assured the farmers that the DMK would always stand by them and fight against the projects that have been implemented against agriculture and urged to reciprocate their support to the party.

Only Stalin eligible to become next  Chief Minister, says Dhivakaran

DMK president MK Stalin is the only eligible one to become the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, claimed VK Dhivakaran, brother of Sasikala in Thanjavur on Thursday.

Dhivakaran, who shared the dais with Stalin in Thanjavur at the wedding function in the family of local MP SS Palanimanickam, asked Stalin to be aware and alert in the upcoming days. Ruing about the present condition of the state and Tamils, he said, Tamils are treated as second grade citizens within the state due to the misrule of AIADMK. “Even a Kannadiga is courageous enough to speak about Periyar. It is due to the demise of powerful leaders of Dravidian movement one after the other,” he added. Dhivakaran said, “Tamil and Tamil Nadu are two eyes for us and we should support the one who would protect these two. Stalin would certainly protect them.” He further said that it is time to protect our heritage and Stalin would do that. He is the leader who is eligible to become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, he added.
