VCK announces candidates for Lok Sabha polls

The Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), an ally of the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance, on Sunday announced its candidates for the next month's Lok Sabha polls.

VCK was allotted two seats by the DMK.

VCK Founder Thol Thirumavalavan, also a former MP, told the media that he would contest from Chidambaram (R) seat, while his party nominee Ravikumar would contest from Villuppuram(R).

He told reporters that Ravikumar would contest under the DMK's 'Rising Sun' symbol, while he would contest from an Independent symbol to be allotted by the Election Commission.

Similarly, DMK's other allies, the IJK and KMDK would also contest under DMK's symbol.
