CHENNAI: AMMK leader and former MLA TTV Dhinakaran who was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate for an inquiry on the 'two leaves' symbol bribery case reached the office in New Delhi today.

The ED summoned TTV Dhinakaran for questioning on April 6.

Dhinakaran was booked by the Delhi police for attempting to influence Election Commission officials to get the 'two leaves' symbol for the Sasikala faction in the 2017 RK Nagar bypolls. Dhinakaran availed conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar as the middleman between him and the officials. Sukesh, who was already imprisoned for cheating and extorting money from celebrities, was arrested again by the central probe agency in this case. However, Dhinakaran was granted bail by a Delhi court.

Dhinakaran's deposition would be recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act or PMLA.

It is worth noting that B Gopinath (31), an advocate, said to be a witness in the case, was found dead in his house in Tiruverkadu on Wednesday in a suspected case of suicide.
