TVK to roll out party ticket forms on February 6

In a statement issued from the party headquarters, TVK general secretary N Anand said application forms would be available at the party's headquarters from February 6 to 14. "Members who wish to contest the Assembly elections on behalf of the TVK may collect and submit their applications within the stipulated period," he said.

CHENNAI: The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) on Tuesday announced that it will begin issuing application forms to party members aspiring to contest the upcoming Assembly elections, signalling the formal start of its candidate selection process.

In a statement issued from the party headquarters, TVK general secretary N Anand said application forms would be available at the party's headquarters from February 6 to 14. "Members who wish to contest the Assembly elections on behalf of the TVK may collect and submit their applications within the stipulated period," he said.

According to the notification, application forms will be issued from 12 noon on February 6, while on all subsequent days they can be collected between 10 am and 6 pm. Aspirants have been asked to fill in all required details and submit the completed forms, along with the necessary supporting documents, to the headquarters.

The party said it was preparing to contest the elections in all 234 Assembly constituencies in the State. Emphasising the importance of electoral politics, the statement said that securing political power was essential to fully meet the aspirations of the people of Tamil Nadu and to place the State firmly on a path of development.

"The TVK, under the leadership of its president, is intensifying its efforts with the clear objective of providing effective governance that lives up to the expectations of the people," Anand said, adding that the decision to invite applications was taken as part of the party's election preparedness.
