According to the health bulletin released by the State's Health Department, the total positive cases registered in the state was 5,528. with the toll of total positive cases till date in Tamil Nadu becoming 4,86,052 while the cured patients totalled 4,29,416.
The state also recorded 64 death due to COVID, taking the total toll till date to 8,154. The number of recoveries exceeded the new infections with 6,185 discharged from different hospitals across the State.
The total number of active cases after factoring in new infections, cured patients, and the death toll stands at 48,482.
State capital Chennai continued to lead the Covid-19 infection table, with 991 more persons testing positive. Thus, the total number of active cases has come down to 10,845.
