Tamil Nadu: Practical exams for classes 10, 12 to begin in February

Additionally, candidates who did not clear the board exam between March 2018 and June 2026, can appear for the written exam from March 3-27. For these candidates, the practical exam will be held from February 16-21.

CHENNAI: The Directorate of Government Examination (DGE) has released the practical exam timetable for classes 10 and 12. For the academic year 2025-26, the practical exam for Class 12 will be held from February 9-14 and for Class 10 from February 23-28.

Additionally, candidates who did not clear the board exam between March 2018 and June 2026, can appear for the written exam from March 3-27. For these candidates, the practical exam will be held from February 16-21.

The board exam for Class 12 will be conducted from March 2-26 and for Class 10 from March 3-27 in Tamil Nadu. Results for classes 12 and 10 will tentatively be released on May 8 and 20, respectively.

As per the timetable released by School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi in November, 8.07 lakh Class 12 students from 7,513 schools will appear for the exams at 3,317 centres and over 8.70 lakh Class 10 students from 12,485 schools will write at 4,113 centres. Following the norms of State Education Policy (SEP), the department has cancelled Class 11 board exams from the current academic year.
