CHENNAI: One-way express special train will be operated between Podanur and Dr MGR Chennai Central to clear extra rush of passengers during Pongal, said a Southern Railway press release.

Train 06144 Podanur – Dr MGR Chennai Central one-way express special will leave Podanur at 7.40 am on January 18 (Sunday) and reach Central station at 4.45 pm the same day (one service).

The train will have stoppages at Katpadi, Arakkonam, Tiruvallur and Perambur. Coach composition will be of two AC chair car coaches, nine sitting chair car coaches (out of which four coaches earmarked for unreserved passengers), three general second class coaches and two second class coaches (disabled friendly).

Advance reservation for this train will open at 8 am today (January 14), added the release.
