Shah visit set to boost morale of state BJP cadre

The state BJP workers, gearing up for the next year Assembly polls are in a state of excitement to receive Union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah known for his successful political strategies.

“The visit of our leader Amit Shah is always special for BJP workers in any state and we have been told that there will be a brainstorming session for BJP functionaries here,” BJP state general secretary KT Raghavan told DT Next.

The state unit has planned a massive reception for the leader and key discussions to strengthen the party and NDA alliance will certainly be there. We are eagerly waiting for the poll related instructions from our top leader,” Raghavan said without going into the poll alliance related details.

Meanwhile in Salem, BJP state president L Murugan on Thursday reiterated that the BJP will determine who should form the next government in Tamil Nadu. “Whom should be the Chief Minister will be pointed out by the BJP. Only a party, which has BJP in its alliance, will form the government,” he said, while speaking at a Vel Yatra meeting organised in defiance of a ban in Salem district.

Around 720 BJP workers, including state chief Murugan, were arrested and taken to a marriage hall and released later in the evening.
