Rs 1.63 lakh seized from RTO office

Vilgilance officers seized Rs 1.63 lakh after a day-long raid at Regional Transport Office (RTO) office on Thursday. The raid was conducted after the Vellore vigilance police received numerous complaints about money being demanded illegally from the public.

A team of ten vigilance police officers led by DSP Saravana Kumar suddenly entered the premises on Sathuvachari’s RTO office road around 11 am and commenced the search operations.


They found money hidden behind the staircase, bathroom and the record room and inside various tables used by subordinate staff. The unaccounted Rs 1.63 lakh was seized. No arrests were made.
