The move comes in the aftermath of gatherings for marriage and death rituals leading to a spread in infections in places like Thangadu, Ottupattarai and Coonoor areas. District Collector J Innocent Divya on Tuesday said that all private and public gatherings were banned in the district to curb the spread of COVID-19. Only 20 people will be allowed to take part in funerals.
