Medical counselling to begin from tomorrow in TN, Min Vijayabaskar releases MBBS rank list

For the first time, students of government schools in TN have received 7.5% medical quota to join medical courses in various colleges.

On Monday, Tamil Nadu Health Minister Dr C Vijayabaskar released the rank list for medical admissions in Tamil Nadu.  

Earlier, Vijayabaskar had announced that counselling for MBBS and BDS admissions will begin in Tamil Nadu from November 17. For the first time, students of government schools in TN have received 7.5% medical quota to join medical courses in various colleges. 

The Bill related to the medical quota to government school students was passed by the legislate assembly on September 15. TN Governor Banwarilal Purohit gave his assent to the Bill on October 30. Approximately 3650 government school students will benefited by this Bill. 

Vijayabaskar has stated that the medical counselling will be conducted in spacious area like the Nehru Indoor Stadium. He added that precautionary measures like masking and social distancing will be followed to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
