Madurai Based Businessman Held for Rs 21 Crore GST Fraud

Based on intelligence information, the CGST sleuths arrested one Madurai based businessman who evaded about Rs 21 crores of GST.

A Madurai based businessman named Kanagarathinam from Alagappa Nagar had reportedly submitted fake bills to evade GST. Based on the intel reports, the CGST sleuths had conducted a raid.

Subsequently, Kanagarathinam was found to have evaded nearly 21 crores of GST amount. He was later arrested and produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Madurai, who eventually directed the police to take Kanagarathinam under custody.
