CHENNAI: On Monday, former AIADMK minister D Jayakumar appeared before the officials of Central Crime Branch (CCB) at the city police commissionerate in connection with the land grabbing case. Jayakumar, who was first arrested for attacking a DMK functionary during the local body elections, was later arrested by the CCB. His remand was extended until March 11, 2022. The former AIADMK minister was released on bail with condition that he appears before the CCB periodically. Jayakumar met the CCB officials, and later met the media where he criticised the state government. “Not even DMK men are safe under the present government,” he pointed out, referring to the murder reported at Esplanade on Sunday. Many of the AIADMK cadre had gathered in front of the city police commissionerate leading to the traffic snarl for over an hour.
