Fisheries Minister D Jayakumar on Monday hit back at DMK president MK Stalin by saying that “DMK’s was the only government that was dismissed in the history of the state for corruption.”

Stalin, at a marriage function, criticised the state government and the recently announced first place in good governance index by saying that “one who gave the award should be beaten.” The comment has become a controversy, as Stalin has directly attacked the Centre for selecting Tamil Nadu as best governed state.

Reacting to the controversial comment, Jayakumar, at the Customs Day function, said, “Stalin and DMK has no right to speak against AIADMK as their party is known for its corruption. We all have heard about the fictious character Mahadevan swallowing the entire St Thomas Mount and in reality, DMK is the original Mahadevan which has swallowed the Himalayas.”
