Sources said that the probe has already started and it was believed that the same gang which was involved in the scam of 2019 Group 4 exam, was also behind the 2017 Group 2A examination fraud. The investigators are already hunting for an agent named Jayakumar, who is believed to have involved in both the scams.

Meanwhile, a press release from CB-CID on Friday said that they have arrested two more persons in connection with the Group 4 examination scam. The arrested were identified as K Manickavel (26), a native of Madurathangam, working as a typist in TNPSC and V Kalayansudaram (31), a driver attached to ABT parcel services. Both were part of the crew that transported answer sheets from Rameswaram on the night of September 1, last year after the examination was over. CB-CID noted that the parcel van driver and typist had conspired with Omkanthan and Jayakumar in committing the fraud. The mastermind Jayakumar had influenced another TNPSC staff named Omkanthan, who is already arrested, and pulled out answer sheets from the van and replaced it with correct answers.
