The minister was countering BJP national secretary H. Raja’s recent statement saying that no party could form governance in Tamil Nadu without alliance with BJP. Further, the minister said be it any national party, it has to take ride on the Dravidian parties in Tamil Nadu.
Subsequently, he showered praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that he had humanitarian concern and no other personality could match the character.
While talking to reporters after presiding over a programme, he said except Tamil Nadu, no other state has formed ‘Sikkana Kooturavu Nanaya Sangam’ for the media personnel.
He said ministers representing various portfolios would stress the need for enacting a law to ensure safety of journalists during the next Assembly session.
Meanwhile, he lauded the efforts taken by the District Administration along with Health officials in bringing down the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in Madurai. Taking a dig at DMK president and leader of the opposition MK Stalin, he said that Stalin just wanted to criticise the ruling government for no reason to gain political mileage.
On issues concerning Sri Lankan Tamil civilians and NEET, he said the DMK has double standards to deceive people.
