Earlier today, the actress-politician Khushbu was arrested and detained near Muttukadu in ECR, by the local SP Sundaravadhanam and team, as the Khushbu has violated prohibitory order to conduct the un-lawul assembly, owing to the lockdown rules prevailing in the State. Khushbu was enroute to Chidambaram to participate in the protest rally against VCK's Thirumavalavan.

Khusbhu along with BJP party members were said to be detained in a resort located in Kelambakkam. The BJP leader staged a dharna in the resort demanding the arrest of Thirumavalan for his alleged demeaning comments against women, while citing Manusmriti.

During the protest, Khushbu said that "I have held lots of respect to Thirumavalavan, which he lost after his irrational comments against womenhood. The book he claims is said to be written about 3000 years ago whereas we are now living by the constitution that ambedkar had written... We will protest until Thirimavalavan apologizes for his comments. We will not back down, even if we get arrested again,"

The actress also took to her official twitter id and said "History is there for the people of TN to see as to who is famous for riots n goondaism. #VCK should speak what party has done, has been doing n will cont. to do to polarize. If its Constitution written by Ambedkar is what you follow, then why bring what was written 3500yrs back?"

Meanwhile, VCK party members gathered around the resort and staged a protest against BJP leader Khushbu and police had to lathi charge against the crowd, said reports.
