NAGERCOIL: AIADMK cadres tore posters of MLA and Kanniyakumari strongman Thalavai Sundaram in Nagercoil, protesting the allocation of the constituency to the BJP in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Tensions have risen in Kanniyakumari district after four of the six Assembly constituencies were allotted to the BJP, while the AIADMK and the TMC were given one each.

The decision has led to discontent among AIADMK cadres. Former MLA Nanjil Murugesan earlier opposed the move.
