The remaining 27 containers are also expected to be transported over the next week, a senior police officer told DT Next. The buyer's bid was rejected last time as the Customs department was not happy with it, but it has been accepted now, said sources.

The containers would be loaded onto the trucks in the presence of officials from the Sattva Container Freight Station (CFS) in Manali and police protection would also be provided to prevent any untoward incidence, the officer said. Following the twin Beirut blasts, this newspaper was the first to report about the 740 tonnes of ammonium nitrate stored at the CFS.
