Coach Vettori not happy about practice wicket

Bangladesh spin bowling consultant Daniel Vettori is frustrated that the host could not get the centre wicket to do its opening practice session with the pink ball at Indore. It was learned that Vettori had asked for the centre wicket during the training session of Tigers at Holkar Stadium on November 17.

The New Zealander even asked for it (centre wicket) to the curator Samandar Singh Chauhan and also explained to him about the ICC rules but he was rejected right away.According to sources, Samandar insisted that they are not able to follow the ICC guideline as the Test isover within three days.

The curator further added that Indian batting coach Vikram Rathour had asked them to prepare the center wicket so that they can do the practice on it.

As a result, the host team used the centre wicket to prepare while Bangladesh was given a different wicket to hone its skills with the pink ball as it was preparing for the second Test match against India at Eden. However, Bangladesh Cricket Board officials said that they are not ready to make a mole out of a mountain about it.

‘’It’s true that he spoke to the curator but it’s totally the host’s privilege. If it did not allow us to practise for one day even, that would have been within its right. All wickets are center wickets. We got one, they got one,’’ saidan official.
