Violinist Balabhaskar passes away

Malayali violinist and music composer Balabhasker (40) passed away early on Tuesday morning.

The musician was undergoing treatment after the car he was travelling met with an accident on 25 September at Thiruvananthapuram . 

His wife Lakshmi (38) and driver are still undergoing treatment at a private hospital after the car they were travelling in lost control and hit a tree near the CRPF camp in Thiruvananthapuram's Pallippuram.

Balabhaskar's two-year-old daughter Tejaswini died on the accident spot.

Balabhaskar, a child prodigy,shot to fame when, as he as a 17-year-old, became the youngest composer to make music for Malayalam film 'Mangalya Pallak' and later made music for several films & albums, promoting fusion music was his forte.

Balabhaskar had won Bismillah Khan Yuva Sangeetkaar Puraskaar, 2008 by Kendra Sangeet Natak Academy for Instrumental Music(Violin) and was also part of a music band.
