Mild intensity quake hits Kashmir

A mild intensity earthquake was felt in the Kashmir valley and Ladakh region early on Thursday morning.

A Met department spokesman said an earthquake of 5.4 magnitude occurred at 04:59 hrs in the region, including Ladakh and Kashmir.

He said the coordinates of the epicenter was felt at 35.5 N Latitude and 77.6 E Longitude, 35 kms in depth near Leh in Jammu and Kashmir and Xingjiang border.

There was no report of any loss of life or damage to property.
