The incident happened around 5 pm when the victim, G Natesan of Kodungaiyur, was overseeing the construction work at Balaji Avenue. Three transgenders, who entered the premises despite the security guard asking him not to do so, asked Natesan for Rs 10 to bless him. When he took out his wallet, they snatched it and fled the spot. Natesan lodged a complaint at the Pondy Bazaar police station. He told the police that the wallet contained Rs 5,300 in cash apart from debit and government identity cards.
