Right from the time, counting of votes started on Thursday chief ministerial candidate of the party Anbumani Ramadoss was trailing in Pennagaram constituency in Dharmapuri distict and finally lost to DMK candidate PNP Inbasekaran, who won by a margin of 20,000 votes.

The lone consolation for PMK was the Pappireddipatti seat, where its party candidate A Sathiyamoorthy was likely to taste victory as the counting trends indicated sizeable lead for him.

Even the two other places, Mettur and Dharmapuri, where they were maintaining a good lead for some time during the counting went out of the party’s hands later. While DMK has won the Dharmapuri segment, Semmalai of AIADMK has won the Mettur seat.
