Kindness award announced for teachers

In the memory of his mother Judith Pinto — who was a teacher at Don Bosco School in Egmore for more than three decades — lawyer Sanjay Pinto has instituted the ‘’Judith Pinto Memorial Kindest Teacher Award” from this year.

It will be a rotational award for a different school in Chennai every year. The first awardee will be selected at Don Bosco, Egmore. It will be a cash award with a trophy and citation. “With corporal punishment so rampant today, we thought it fit to celebrate our mother’s contribution with an annual award,” said Sanjay Pinto.
