History sheeter held for breaking donation box

CHENNAI: Police arrested a serial offender for breaking open a temple donation box and stealing cash in Neelankarai.

Rs 5,000 was recovered and a two-wheeler used in the crime was seized.

The complaint was filed by M Mathi, administrator of the Sri Devi Thandu Thulukanathamman Temple in Injambakkam, who found the donation box lock broken on December 17.

Police arrested Honestraj (35) of Chromepet. He was produced before a court and remanded in custody.
