HC advocate killed as two-wheeler hits lorry

A High Court advocate, 33, was killed in an accident on Tambaram-Maduravoyal bypass on Friday. Rakesh, the deceased, was a resident of Purasaiwalkam.

On Friday morning Rakesh had gone to Maraimalainagar on his two-wheeler. On the way back, as he was on the Maduravoyal bypass near Kannadapalayam in Tambaram, a lorry that was in front of him suddenly applied brakes. Rakesh could not stop his two-wheeler immediately, and rammed into the lorry. The police said he suffered severe head injuries and died on the spot. A team from the Chromepet traffic investigation police sent his body to Chromepet government hospital for post-mortem. The police have registered a case and are searching for the lorry driver who is absconding.
