CMWSSB’s piped water supply to be suspended in parts of Chennai for 24 hours from Jan 8

The supply of drinking water through trucks to areas without water connection and areas with low pressure will be carried out as usual without any interruption.

CHENNAI: The Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) has announced a temporary suspension of piped drinking water supply in several parts of the city for 24 hours, starting from 10 am on January 8, to 10 am on January 9.

A press release from CMWSSB said, “As the Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) is carrying out interconnection pipeline works at the main distribution line in MRC Nagar Water Distribution Station on Ramakrishna Math Road in Mandavelipakkam. “

Therefore, the supply of piped water to the following areas under Zone-9 (Teynampet) and Zone-13 (Adayar) will be suspended.

“In Teynampet Zone drinking water will be suspended in several wards, including 116, 120, 119, 121, 124, 125, 122, 123 and 126. Covering the areas of Triplicane, Royapettah, Mylapore, Santhome, Nandanam, Raja Annamalaipuram, Mandavelipakkam. Whereas, in Adayar zone, ward 171, areas including Raja Annamalaipuram Santhome, Mandavelipkkam,” added the press release.
