Chennai: Metro trains to run on Sunday schedule till Jan 18

Between Washermenpet and Wimco Nagar Depot, trains will run every 6 minutes.

CHENNAI: On account of the Pongal festival, the Chennai Metro Rail (CMRL) will operate trains as per the Sunday timetable from January 15-18.

As per CMRL’s press note, Metro trains will be available every 10 minutes from 5 am to 12 noon and 8-10 pm, and, every 7 minutes from 12 noon to 8 pm.

From 10-11 pm, these trains will run every 15 minutes. The service will begin as per the regular schedule from 5 am till 11 pm.

To cater to the growing footfall, CMRL recently increased the train frequency on the blue line from Airport Metro to Wimco Nagar.

Now, from 8-11 am and 5-8 pm, trains will be operated every 6 minutes. From Alandur to Washermenpet, trains during the hours will be operational every 3 minutes.

Between Washermenpet and Wimco Nagar Depot, trains will run every 6 minutes.
