Bike thief nabbed in Ambattur

Nearly a month after a bike worth Rs 2 lakh was stolen in Ambattur, the police arrested the thief during a vehicle check and seized the stolen two-wheeler.

The accused, Boopalan (23) of Kancheepuram, was remanded in judicial custody. The bike belongs to Nithyakumar (36), who works at a private firm in Tiruvallur. Nithyakumar, who parked the bike in front of his house at Menambedu on January 7, found the vehicle missing the next morning.


Based on his complaint, the Ambattur police registered a case.


Meanwhile, on Thursday morning, the accused e was intercepted for overspeeding on a two-wheeler and inquiries revealed that it was a stolen. It was seized and he was arrested.
