Fire service personnel and five fire tenders had to struggle for three hours to control the fire on the second floor of a three storyed building.

Fire service personnel said members of public had passed on the information regarding the fire on the second floor of the building after they saw thick smoke emanating from the office around 3 am on Tuesday. Fire service personnel rushed to the spot and five fire tenders were pressed into service.

The fire service personnel first splashed water on the floor above to prevent fire from spreading to the upper floor and doused the flames after three hours. Fire service officials said an electric short circuit could have triggered the fire accident. Arvind Swamy visited the spot after learning about the accident.
