23-yr-old held for robbing food delivery agent, hunt on for aide

A 23-year-old man, who robbed a mobile phone from a food delivery agent, was arrested at Kasimedu on Sunday. The police have launched a hunt for his accomplice.

The CCTV footage collected from the locality showed two men attacking a food delivery agent, who was using his mobile phone sitting in front of a closed shop, at Kasimedu.


The two suspects, armed with sharp weapons, walked towards the delivery agent, Thennappan of Tiruvottiyur. One of them attacked him and the other snatched his mobile phone.


Based on a complaint from Thennappan, the Kasimedu police have registered a case and recovered the CCTV footage. The police identified one of suspects as Logu, a history-sheeter from Old Washermenpet. Around 3 am on Tuesday, the police personnel on patrol tried to intercept two men on a motorbike near Washermenpet but they abandoned the vehicle and ran away. The police chased them and nabbed Logu while the his accomplice escaped. Logu was remanded to judicial custody.
