According to Corporation sources, 25 people, mostly minors, have been staying at a home run by Lawrence’s trust in Pudur, Ashok Nagar. “Of the 25, 20 tested positive. The trust houses disabled people and orphans,” a source said. When asked about the source of infection, field-level officials said that a woman, who worked as cook there, had the infection and the inmates contracted the virus from her. The woman lives near the trust where positive cases were reported.

“On Saturday, four inmates contacted the civic body and reported mild fever. Following this, a medical team visited the home and collected samples from 20 inmates. The other five weren’t present then,” an official said. The civic body will test samples of the remaining five inmates.
