Kolkata constable’s unique crowd management skills during pooja win hearts

Durga pooja in Kolkata is a grand affair and the City of Joy gets decked up in lights and festive spirit while crowds throng the city streets for ‘pandal hopping’. Tasked with crowd management during the biggest festival of the state, the Kolkata police plays a unique role during these six days. At one of the puja pandals this year, a young constable from the state’s reserved forces lived up to his very best by delivering the best possible policing. Constable Ilias Mian, hailing from the northern part of the state, was seen balancing himself in a tricky position, with one leg on a chair and other on a bamboo of a barricade, while managing the crowd at Tridhara Sammilani pandal. A video of the same was shared by the official Kolkata Police Facebook page. 

Maharashtra CM’s wife takes risky selfie during cruise inauguration, ignores warning

In a footage released on Sunday, Amruta Fadnavis, wife of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, was seen taking a selfie close to the railing of a luxury cruise, beyond the safety range. The video showed that she was repeatedly cautioned by the security personnel on board India’s first domestic cruise Angria, to which she did not pay any heed and went ahead with taking selfies. The cruise was inaugurated on Saturday by Union Shipping Minister Nitin Gadkari and the Chief Minister.

Man takes parents home on rickshaw after convocation, cricketer Sehwag reacts

A heart-warming picture of a man ‘riding’ his parents home on a rickshaw on way back from his convocation ceremony earned applauses from cricketer Virender Sehwag, besides touching a chord among the Netizens. The man was identified as Hisamuddin Khan by Sehwag, who further claimed that Khan’s father was a rickshaw puller. Moreover, in the picture, the father could be seen wearing the graduation gown, while Khan’s mother sported the graduate’s cap.
