Marmadesam gets a digital release

Cult classic supernatural thriller, Marmadesam Vidatha Karuppu, which was aired on TV in the 90s, is still considered as one of the popular shows in Tamil Nadu. The series was produced under the banner Min Binbangal, owned by Kailasam, son of the late legendary director K Balachander.

Now, after almost two decades, Kavithaalaya Productions, has announced that the series will be aired on their official Youtube channel, from Monday. The television series gave Tamil industry many talented actors like Devadarshini and Chetan.


Vidatha Karuppu series had 82 episodes and each episode had a run time of about 30 minutes. The story explores the rural cult of Karuppu Sami and the mysterious deaths in the villages. It was directed by Naga. Many directors in the industry have told in their interviews that Marmadesam was one of the best thrillers ever made.
