CHENNAI: Fashion designer Joy Crizildaa Rangaraj on Wednesday (April 1) released a press statement confirming that a DNA report has established celebrity chef Madhampatty Rangaraj as the father of her child, Ragha Rangaraj.
Thanking the public, media, and her supporters for their unwavering love and belief, Joy said she was overwhelmed with gratitude.
She noted that the confirmation brings long-awaited justice after months of scrutiny and emotional hardship. “Justice has prevailed. Ragha has won,” she said.
Recalling her journey, she spoke about the challenges she faced during pregnancy and the strength it took to endure public questioning.
She added that she remained determined to secure her child’s identity despite the odds.
Calling it a blessed moment, she expressed heartfelt thanks to everyone who stood by her, saying their support carried her through her most vulnerable times.
Joy Crizildaa, locked in a legal dispute with celebrity chef-actor Madhampatty Rangaraj, had earlier filed a police complaint accusing him of cheating her by marrying her while already being married. She has shared posts, photos and videos on social media featuring Rangaraj, seeking justice for herself and her baby boy, born in October last year.
Rangaraj later sought to bar Crizildaa from making defamatory remarks and to remove related social media videos. In court, during a January hearing, her counsel alleged he deceived her about his marital status and lived with her, while his counsel sought a DNA test, stating he would accept responsibility if paternity was proven. The court then dismissed Rangaraj's plea to restrain Crizildaa.
