Ma Subramanian launches 'Manam' scheme for college students

The scheme will be started in medical colleges in the first phase and then expanded to all colleges to prevent mental health problems and ensure the mental development of students to lead a fulfilling student life.

CHENNAI: Health Minister Ma Subramanian along with Greater Chennai Corporation Mayor R Priya on Monday at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital launched ‘Manam’ to protect the mental health of the college students. It has been set up at all the government medical colleges, dental colleges in Tamil Nadu.

In this program, students and teachers will be included as members of mental welfare forums on a voluntary basis and training will be provided to them in terms of maintaining mental health and mental health development.

The scheme will be started in medical colleges in the first phase and then expanded to all colleges to prevent mental health problems and ensure the mental development of students to lead a fulfilling student life.
