COIMBATORE: BJP national working president Nitin Nabin on Sunday called for a decisive political change in the State by ousting DMK in the upcoming Assembly polls.
Exuding confidence that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) alliance would emerge victorious in the upcoming polls, the BJP leader, while addressing a meeting of the party’s booth committee functionaries in Singanallur, urged party workers to launch signature campaigns and protests against widespread corruption, growing menace of drug addiction along with persistent civic issues related to roads and drinking water in several areas.
“The DMK government should be removed from the state in the upcoming polls by highlighting these issues to voters,” he said.
Only 90 days left for the Assembly polls, Nitin Nabin said, cautioning booth committee members against complacency and stressing the need for sustained efforts until their electoral goal was achieved.
Pointing to coordination meetings being held across eight districts in the Coimbatore zone, Nabin noted that almost 80 per cent of booths in the region had been effectively structured, which he asserted would translate into electoral success.
Earlier, he participated in the ‘Namma Ooru Modi Pongal’ celebrations, organised by the BJP in Coimbatore. BJP state president Nainar Nagenthran claimed that the Kongu region has a strong support base for the BJP. He also expressed hope that a change in governance would usher in a ‘spiritual administration’ in the State.
BJP leaders Tamilisai Soundararajan, Vanathi Srinivasan, K Annamalai and others participated in the event.
